how to become a lyricist

penah tak rase macam banyak gila idea dalam pale otak..???
rase macam tension giler coz banyak sangat nak dikatakan...tekanan sampai rase nak amek m16 pastu tembak orang ramai..penah rase nak langgar lecturer anda dengan kereta kancil korang yang dah reput dimamah usia tu....kalau penah itu makna korang dah gila.....so nak elak jadi gila mari kita baca cara2 nak menghilangkan tensi dengan menulis lirik & puisi dan sbgainya....

Step 1:
Pick an idea. Whether writing the next great love song or a politically slanted satire, you will need to focus on the main point of your song. In order to become a lyricist, you should draw from love, pain, ideas and memories.

Step 2:
Find rhythm in words. Without trying too hard, locate the rhythm in a set of words that will tell the story you wish to tell. Using a rhyming dictionary can help with the ends of the lines. By singing the lyrics you write down, you will be able to hear the way words are flowing together.

Step 3:
Try a template for structure. Use a 4 stanza template, with the melody in between each stanza. Go online or buy a book that will give you differing templates to work from. Your own style can come about after you have written a few valid songs. Artistic freedom and growth will come with time.

Step 4:
Know your audience. In order to get started on the road to a finished song, you will need to solidify in your mind who you are writing it for. Country songs have their own lyrical slant, as do songs written for rock, pop and hip hop. Having a clear picture of your target audience will help.

Step 5:
Be prepared. Use a tape recorder, notebook and your ears. Having the ability to hear your recorded voice singing can have a profound effect on your opinion of what really sounds good. Keep a notebook with you at all times to write down ideas as they come to you. Listening to songs all the time will help you know what is selling, and it will give you a kind of gauge as to what sounds good and what doesn't.

Step 6:
Draw the audience in. With a great first line, and a catchy chorus, your song is basically written. The story still needs to be told effectively, but these 2 factors are keys to becoming a great lyricist.
